BEGIN SECRETIVE MELLOW MUSIC:

Centaurus secretly gathered up all the equipment and curing potions that he could find. After hours of searching the grounds, and bartering with competing shopkeepers, he had finally gotten everything he needed to make a successful escape. All that was left for him to do was to say goodbye to the few people that he knew would miss him.

Hamrig: The ungrateful jerk left without ever saying goodbye to me.

Frazz: The day he had planned to leave, I offered to go with him so that he would have all the help he would need. But he didn’t feel right about having two champions leaving the citizens to fend for themselves, so he asked me to stay behind. I didn’t know why he thought I was a champion, but I heeded his request anyway.

Centaurus was ready to go, but the guards stood in his way. He offered money, beans, and his first-born daughter to the one who would let him pass, but the mayor’s decree held strong with them, so they were not going to let him through. Centaurus contemplated jumping the town walls, but even the horse half of him could not make a ten-foot leap. So he did the very last thing he knew he could do. He begged the mayor to let him leave.

Rudimus: I didn’t appreciate his willingness to defy my orders, so I kicked him out of town. I hadn’t seen him since.
